I had a squeal which I noticed last time I drove the car. (I've been off road and laid up for last week)
I thought it sounded like a fan belt slipping.
So I investigated the auxiliary belts, but when I checked them, they all looked fine and correctly tensioned.
I was worried about it as I couldn't find what was causing the squeal. It was mostly noticeable in 3rd gear from about 1500 rpm upwards when under load.
I had fitted new discs and pads last week and also some silicon turbo hoses.
Whilst I was thanking the guys who sent me the discs, I mentioned about the squeal. I was told that it sounded like an air leak from a turbo pipe.
I thought I had tightened up the turbo pipes as far as I could. Well yesterday I tightened them up some more.
And.....
No squeal.
Moral of story, make sure you tighten those T clamps up and then check after a few days.
All is nice and peaceful now!
