My two Landys are confusing.

Doing an online VIN Decode, it states that my Defender is a 1997 Model but manufactured in 1999, sold by "stated dealer name" and registered in 1999

Does this make any sense? For the most part, I know vehicles to be noted and registered as the year they were manufactured. What the heck was my landy doing in the plant for two years?

Is it a special edition with all the bells and whistles LOL

It wasn't a 1997 spec model manufactured as ROW spec in 1999 was it?

By that I mean 300tdi made new for 'rest of world' when TD5 was the flavour everywhere else.

No it does not blue, think I will stick to BMW, their VINs tell you right down to what the temperature was when the vehicle rolled out the plant
