we at last my td4auto HSE is fixed I had a recon turbo unit put in as it had a problem with some wear in the vanes, that done it still had the no go sometimes when starting from stop, I had forgotten that I had brought a code reader it was only after a reminder of the wife that I brought it a couple of years ago, so when the engine light came on I tried it and it gave me a code which I looked up and it was the map sensor I replace with a new one and wow it now has grunt that it did not have before , it was always slower than my old td4 I have yet too see what top speed is as before it struggled on anything above 85.

The trouble is I have a very heavy lead foot I have never been able to keep my speed down because I used to race years ago the only time I kept my speed down was when I was in New Zealand because I had seen too many New Zealand cops programmes .

In 20 years of driving in the UK, I got 1 speeding ticket.

When I moved over here, I started collecting them like confetti. There's loads of cops on the roads and they'll nick you if you so much as think of exceeding the limit. I haven't had 1 now for about 8 years... I think I've adjusted to lower limits that are strictly enforced :)

I am touching wood but the last one I had was in 1978 and one of the reasons for not speeding in NZ was the bloody car we thought we were doing right with a company that supposed to be world wide but after having to pay $535 for a new windscreen as it had a split in it and the amount of time it broke down was unbelievable .next time we will go with a company we know ,we had such a sock when we eventually got back to their office (right cars) and told them about the windscreen expecting to pay the excess they said we were not insured ,the car never did drive right I found out is had been in a smash. I did not think it was safe anyway to go past 60 kilometers.

To be honest Teddy, they do look like a shonky outfit!

The Right Car "head office" in Brighton looks shonkey, and the franchise in Auckland looks even shonkier...

on the computer it looked I say looked like a world wide thing we did not realise it was a crummy put together where and car rental place could join we have reported them but to think all that time we were not insured but I think it only came to that when the windscreen cracked .
