Hi all,
Just thought I would let you know about my latest RRC. Some of you will remember that I posted my last Rangey (as stolen in january of this year. Unfortunately ,it was never recovered ,and I finally got an insurance settlement for the amount that I paid for it (£1500) after they originally offered me £600 !! I think that after sending them the full 19 year service history ,and copies of a range rover register magazine article , they came around to the fact that these cars do appreciate in value in some cases !I will admit that the loss adjusters are on the ball though as they noticed that the mileage readings on my m.o.t. certificates suddenly went down from 248000 to about 150000 ! I explained to them that I had replaced the KPH speedo for a MPH one . Luckily I had photographed the change-over !
I am now 7 months into the ownership of a 1992 SE Vogue , in Ardennes green , which apart from not being a jap export model, is identical to my last one !Its lpg converted, with twin tanks in place of the original fuel tank , with an auxiliary petrol tank under the rear offside wing. I have done a bit of welding to the foot wells ,and passenger side rear outer sill.I have replaced the distributor , which improved performance considerably !It has got a full service history which I have added up to over £36000 in bills
I have fitted a tow bar to it for the first time in its 20 year history , and am towing our caravan tomorrow for the first time , to Barmouth, via Dinas Mawddwy. Wish me luck !

I don't know what your insurance arrangements are but my '87 Vouge is on a classic policy & includes agreed value in return for 'social/domestic/pleasure only' & max 3k miles per year. Had to faff about sending the IC several photo's but as the car has only done 48k & is rot free/original spec I felt it was worth the effort. That was last year & there's been no premium increase on the renewal date this month. Enjoy your trip, there's no reason that you should have any problems if the car is looked after - I'd trust mine more than a modern car & would certainly enjoy the journey more.

I forgot to mention that when my renewal came through from Adrian Flux , two months after my settlement, the premium had gone up by about £400 for my 3rd party fire and theft 4x4 policy !!! I shopped around , and got the classic policy with agreed value from Lancaster insurance for £228 fully comp.
Just got back from towing the caravan to barmouth and back via dinas mawddwy. No problems. When we got to the top of the pass, two fighter jets came up the valley and passed right over our heads, about 60 foot above us. It was superb !

Cheers strange days ! I have written to the two previous owners , and they have been in contact with me. The first owner , who lives in a multi million pound home in Westminster, sent me some photo's of the the Rangey crossing the Verbier pass in Switzerland in winter in the early 90's ! The second owner has met me and passed on the service history to me as he had traded the car in to a dealer.
So , like my last Rangey , until it was stolen , I feel like the custodian of this car , and will never sell it !
p.s. On my 260 mile round trip to barmouth and back , I only saw one other RRC , which was in Barmouth , but I passed two series one Landys at different intervals !

Great pic, lovely looking classic! My classic is my daily driver, but there's something special about going in holiday in it :)
