Insurance is up for renewal, so I went on the comparison websites, and filled in all the forms starting with my Reg No.

Apparently,I now have a 2007 Land Rover 110 2.5 TDi 5-Door Station Wagon Fender parked outside, rather than the 1990 Land Rover 110 2.5N/A 3-door Rigid Body Fender that I've got!

The 5 insurance companies that I spoke to have all said that that's what I have according to 'the database'!

One of them even tried to tell me that the one I was looking at was wrong, and must have 5 doors!

I even tried to explain to them that she has one door on a=each side and one at the back, making a total of three!

Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, how did they resolve it?

Interestingly, the quote for the 2007 5-door was £105-71 ... because apparently, Land Rover didn't make a Rigid Body prior to then!

Any advice would be appreciated!

PM me your reg and I will see what comes up here, it may be DVLA or it may be the insurance database. Its easy to change, ring DVLA first but generally its write a letter in with a few pictures showing the vehicle, it must have been OK before otherwise you couldn't have got an MOT on it (which is what makes me think it may be the insurance database)

DVLA details are correct (according to 2 independent programs linked to the DVLA), its insurance database thats wrong and opnly they can advise how to deal with it. If they say 'no its the DVLA' then ask to speak to a supervisor and tell them you have checked already.

I had a series 3 a while back , when I tried to insure it the dvla had it registered as a 1.0 l micra.. Apparently it was brought over from Northern Ireland and whoever reregistered it mixed the cars up, only had to fill in a daft form and was sorted in less than 2 weeks...

Many thanks Jongould,

I've sent a mail off to the MIB (Men In Black, maybe?) to ask them how it has happened, who is responsible and how to get the details corrected.

Let's see what happens next ...
