Hi ,This is my first REAL problem since owning our 96 2.5 dse ,I have done a search but there was nothing there like my problem .
The problem is the car is sitting at its lowest setting ACCESS it is called I think, there are 2 orange lights on the suspension settings on the dash ,one light is flashing which is next to the standard ride height and the other light is on all the time next to the lowest setting ACCESS .
There is no error message highlighted at the moment ,I have checked the fuses under the bonnet which are ok but have not checked the relay which is connected to the suspension .

Can anybody please point me in the right direction as to what the problem is any replys gratefully recieved.Cheers.

The button stays on at the ride height you are currently at and flashes beside the ride height you have selected to go to.

If you are at access height and have a door or bonnet/tailgate open then the light will flash but it will not go anywhere until all the door is closed. This is normal.

If it stays flashing for say more than 30 secs, then you more than likely have either a worn compressor or a leak

Try Dennis at rover-renovations.com, he's really good for support and posts from the states no prob. I got my compressor and valve block re-build kits off him.

Cheers ,One more question, once you have replaced the seals in the compressor and put it all back together and fitted it to the car is it a case of starting the car and let the compressor pump up all 4 corners then forget about it or is abit more involved than that? Sorry if thats a silly question but I really am new to all this DIY on RR .

Cheers.

Once you refit the compressor start the engine and crack the drivers door open, let it tick over for about 5-10 mins then jump in, shut the door and up she comes - you may have to "remind" the system by pressing the height switch till normal height flashes

V8 KENNY, The E-bay site you mentioned have you used them ?are they good ? you hear so many stories of doggy sellers on E-bay.

Cheers.

Hi,
I got mine from P38 Spares Oxford, you can find them on the web or in Ebay.
Good supplier he will advise you if you need help.

-:: P38 Spares - Land Rover and P38 and Range Rover parts, EAS air suspension airbags and diagnostic kickers and faultmate MSV::-

Remove inlet filter and place your finger over the hole, you should feel a reasonable amount of suction if you don't you may need the piston ring kit.
Then try to blow though the filter to see if its blocked.

Follow the instructions or you will break the ring.

Regards Fred

Update, I have stripped the compressor at work today and sure enough the seal was shafted but also we stripped out the whole thing and found that the commutator is faulty ,this being the part where the wiring loom diappears inside the compressor ,the two carbon brushes sit on the commutator as it spins round ,it has 10 or 12 copper segments and we found that one or more of the copper segments is dead so it will be taken to a electrical workshop tomorrow that does electric motor rewinding for a price ,I was told if it easy to fix it will be done the same day for £20/30 or if its a rewind it will be £60/70 ,plus a seal kit ,still cheaper than a new or recon compressor ,FINGERS CROSSED!!
