Hello Everyone,
Yesterday i picked up my first Landy at 6p.m
A 1996 Defender 90 300tdi.
I drove it 60 miles home with no problems at all.
Woke up this morning and thought id give it the once over, Chassis looks solid, apart from the rear crossmember which i believe my welder will be able to get through MOT. and a few electrical problems like the hazards and radio. No problem for me to fix.
However i have experienced a worrying crunching noise that sounds like its coming from the Passenger Side Front Wheel. i wondered if anyone could help me identify i will try and explain as best i can.
When traveling at slow speed approaching a junction i put a small amount of steering lock on, then come to complete stop. When pulling away and applying more lock in the same direction i get a crunching noise.
It is not in Diff Lock and i am traveling at less than 15mph.
My thoughts are possibly a CV Joint ?
