Hi all, I'm new to land rovers, my friend has had a defender and now a disco so I thought I'd join in.

It's a 1993, it has terrafirma 2" lift kit with dislocation cones. Huge tyres on I think modular rims. 265 wide. Wheel arch extensions. And a winch bumper.

It needs a little work as I'm sure most do, but it's got MOT until February and tax until the end of July so gives me plenty of time to get things sorted.

It's got a large dent in the near side front wing but it came with spare. Both the near side doors are the wrong colour, they are from a 300tdi so the electrics are different too.

I've had it since Sunday and my list currently goes as follows:

> free off hand brake and get working.
> replace front and rear diff seals
> replace transfer box front prop seal
> replace all fluids; diffs, gearbox, transfer box, engine, brake fluid and coolant
> fit terrafirma extended front braided brake hoses(never fitted with kit)
> change near side front wing
> viscose fan coupling
> boost pipes, one of them is split slightly
> find bracket and re-attach steering damper
> balance all wheels

I'm sure that once I get it up on a ramp and check it over I'll find at least one of the rear wheels bearings will be gone. Apart from the tyres the rear is pretty noisey

Well that'll do for now :blah:

Thanks for reading

Ashley

Thanks

Yeah I'll be getting myself one soon enough there's a rather large hole in the drivers footwell.

That's on the list of to does but that can wait a little

Wasn't supposed to be an embarrassed face mate. It was supposed to be a shock face, you don't love your tratter as much as you should :p

I will when its sorted, I'm trying to sort a house and all me tools etc are in storage so all I can do is look at it and wish it was different lol!

Im in the same situation, We have moved in with the monster in law to save up for a house and we have a 2 year old and one on the way o_O

Tools are all over like the rest of our stuff, makes it hard to get the welding done on the landy!

We'll I'm lucky that I'm a mechanic and I've got a few people with a fair bit of toolage!
There's a fair bit of work but I'll get it done.

I'd love a defender but I need a slightly more practical car to take the little un into nursery week days
