It's sagging. The headliner that is. Anyone got any fixes ? I need to strip it out at some point anyway, so how hard is it to glue it back down without making it look like shit?

Stone chip !:):p

I had this same problem with my old boy about three or more years ago and this is what I did.- - it is still as good as when I first did it.
I bought a couple of packs of what a 'Land Rover parts'seller called 'christmas/fir tree fasteners and then marked out a pattern on my sagging roof to make it resemble a 'button-backed chair'. I first pierced a SMALL hole in the roof liner with a stiletto at each marked point and then firmly pushed up a fastener into each hole. NB. I am NOT a DIYer but I do do a lot of craft work!! I was unsure just how much space there was between the roof and the liner so did imagine that I might have to cut a bit off the length of the leg of the faster but it didn't come to that as there was ample space up there. My fasteners are the same light grey as the liner but I can now only find black ones on ebay. I can't give you a link 'cos I am not computer literate with these things, but here are a couple of item numbers for you to look at, if you are interested, to get the general drift of what I mean:
311364999922, 381559655580,(good point on these), 321632781628, 311340750271 - no picture here though??

Have you got any pics I like this idea I've got a saggy section starting and don't really want to replace the head lining just yet

Like the fasteners idea! I have a section of lining starting to sag too, just above windscreen, may give this idea a go.

Looked into this. Plan is to remove the headliner. Strip off cover material. Rub down the hard part of the liner till its clean of all old glue and foam. Give headliner to an car upholsterer friend of my father in laws to fit new material. That's the plan so we will see how it goes. Not doing it right away though as a few other jobs to sort out first though.

Hi Meego I am a newbie and I hope I am not too late to help I had the unfortunate problem of sagging headliner on a VW Passat sports turbo estate a common feature of that crappy car, I found Haberdashers Twist Pins on Ebay very cheap very effective like little corkscrews, all the best from Madman2Swords down in Bristol.

Thanks for the reply mate. Looked for these on eBay but only found hairpins. To be honest though, I want it to look original.
