My crazy diff ratio change idea

Casings appear to be the same fairly certain the rear subframes are too so the mounting points should make sense to be the same and from what I can find, the driveshafts all appear to have the same part numbers so I'd say it's worth the gamble to try it but it will be a gamble as nobody seems to know for sure.

Someone will have to try it to gain the knowledge.

Let's let him have the last word and for goodness sake put this to bed.

One thing that will happen is an amount of extra strain on the rest of the transmission dealing with the extra pull needed to get upto speed.
Also, if you had a six speed box you'd probably find that the engine speed would be similar in the 6th gear at motorway speed anyway🤷

I too am hoping this will lead him to put us all out of our misery!!
In the end, if they don't work for him I dessay he'd be able to flog them on for much what he paid for them.
Also would give him the chance to tart up the old ones.

When you say no one here knows, you are assuming that every single person who looks at this forum site has already looked at this particular question and given their answer.

That is obviously not the case.

All you are really saying is that the people who have already commented here do not know the answer but that was clear yesterday.

There may be people who are on holiday for a week who come back and look at some of the forum headings and have an interest in this topic because they know something.

I have experienced this many times in life, where people do not know the answer to a question so they assume that nobody knows the answer to the question.

My experience is that this is always wrong.

Some people would call it hubris, but I don't actually care what I should call it, I just find it hilarious, but it doesn't answer my question.

Thank you for actually making an effort and giving me actual information.

This would have been put to bed if people had just said that they did not know and did not spend the last day and a half throwing out condescending insults.

Remember nobody modifies cars any anymore so my question is irrelevant.

Oh wait that's not true.

If people didn't keep making such stupid comments like this I wouldn't have come back here for more and more laughs.

Anyway kiddo, Range Rover made the car exactly perfectly and nobody should ever modify anything on any car ever.

The first and second comments I got here combined into one sentence.

Also funny that everyone said that no one knew the answer to the question but in just one day waiting you have given me an actual reasonable factual answer that no one else has bothered to suggest or investigate.

So literally one day after everyone said that I would never get the answer, you gave me a really important reasonable answer.

In fact your answer is so good that for me it is more than enough justification to go ahead with buying one diff and seeing if it fits.

So you have essentially answered my question when everybody else said that nobody would ever answer my question.

And you wonder why I'm laughing so hard?

As I've been pretty friendly and non-dismissive towards you so far in this thread, albeit tinged with a little gentle humour, I think your answer it a little "orff". But I am still looking forward to you taking my advice and getting just the one to see how it goes.

My question was if it was a crazy idea or not. Given that he gave me factual information regarding part numbers and the subframe that means taking the next step is not a crazy idea. That answers my question. Maybe you people just can't read English? Go and read my original question again. You might then discover that my question was answered. Anyway you were wrong and you have no capacity to admit that which is just another hilarious part of this conversation.

Well that'll teach me to post to you as I have done.
Those who know me well on here will admit that I often make mistakes and usually admit to them.
It could still be a crazy idea, fitting them may not be, but using them might be.
So you yourself still don't know the answer to your own question.

if you guys didn't have such thin skins you wouldn't have thrown out so many insults that I have been laughing at. And because I have been laughing at them I don't have a thin skin. Maybe logic is not your strong point.
