Hi everyone

I have had my P38 for over 18months now and i love everything about this car, recently been getting random messages on my dash, from traction overheat to gearbox messages to fuse 20 blown and max 35 messages, i've been told by a 4x4 mechanic near where i live that it sounds like the battery is low, so i took the battery off the car and slow charged it over night and the following morning put the battery back on the p38 and set all the keyfob, windows ect, and for a couple of days the messages stopped, thought fixed the problem but it started up again with the messages, so did some diggin on the range rover forums for battery drain and found that the RF module was draining the battery so i did what a few of the members said and disconnected the RF module and recharged my battery, thought this time i'd fixed it, but no after a 4-5 days the battery couldnt turn the engine, found out that the possibly the battery was at its end of its life, so i went back on the forums to find out what size battery i need, and again the members helped me, stating i need more that 680cca, so i looked around on the internet for battery with CCA of 800 -900, which was great but here is the the problem, the P38 is fitted with LPG and the ECU has been installed in the battery compartment, which means all the batteries are too long, does any one here know where i can get a battery that L 310mm x W 175mm x H 190mm with CCA of 800-900, failing that i'm going to have to move the LPG ECU and i really dont want to start messing around with cables, wiring looms and ecu's

Get battery tested and check your charging rate. Cold weather finds out duff batteries better than anything else.

thanks guys for your suggestions, all are valid points, :) I have checked the alternator with a multimeter and its throwing up 14.2v so i can safely say that this is working, but the battery which is a Varta E12 Blue Electric looks like its a gonna, can't check the levels as its a sealed batt, so its looking like i'm going to have to move the ecu for the lpg, so i can get a 850cca 110ah battery in, :( wish me luck!!
