just got hold of a defender with the old style turbo diesel in will fit a cooler to it i think as its not the quickest of girls. i will be converting the rear into a camper style, i have done some searches with little joy, does any one have any clear photos of a build with a bed in, cupboards, storage etc

heres a pick of mine and my other car that it will be towing next year

Awesome! Exactly how mine started a few months back. Going drifting by any chance?

No info on camper bodies I'm afraid but do yourself a favour and ditch the old TD lump. IMO no cooler will make it any better and something like a Discovery 200Tdi will go straight in with minimal effort - Better power, better torque, better fuel economy.

S14a? Looks good! I was looking to do a sort of similar thing for dh race weekends, but I wanted it sort of removable.. Was guna make something that I put between the arches and folded out... But I haven't raced in a while so haven't bothered!

Oh, and 100% agree about the td.. I thought I had a good one and was pleased with how nippy it was, until I decided to do the swap and my god what a difference! Especially if you are towing..

LOL yea I no about the engine but due to money I just can't change the engine I drive like miss daisy anyway so will be fine, and yes will be trailering

For those interested it's a s14 silvia with a skylne 2.5 straight six turbolump in, serious lock mods suspension etc hopefully il qualify for the brittish drift championship when I try at end of year to qualify fingers crossed

Think I'm going to make a metal frame for the bed light and strong and il get hold of som memory foam for the mattress

1st things first and I'm chucking it on a ramp torY to see what parts it needs needs a few bushes ,drivers door hinge and il HIV it a service and change all the oils

O and my heater and vent sticks are stu k solid so can't turn the heat on

See if you can move the hearter control arms on the heater box on your bulkhead. If you can itl be cables that are gunked up.

Nice, my mate has a ps13. But he has put the uk s13 front end on.. Think it's now a sil80!? I will get some sort of jap drift car one day!

Itl be a onievia, sil80 is s13/180sx with ps13 front end very nice cars, cheers for that il take look hopefully will be a quick fix as the misses is winging she's cold LOL

Going to search for a second hand head linigfor it to maybe line the roof first with insulation then headlong on that should keep the dew out

thats it.. yeh give it all a spray with wd40 or similar.

are you after a full headlining? they cost a bloody fortune.. just ply line it with insulation behind! thats my plan before winter..

yea that sounds like a plan mate,going to ply then carpet the walls and insulate behind not sure what insulation to use any ideas? as dont want it to go manky over time from moisture etc

ordered two new cables today from britfart only bout 15 for the pair checked the current ones out and yea,, thers no freeing them puppies up lol also orederd a hole lot of bushes
