My SIII spends lots of year without canvas so looked at boat catalogues for waterproof speakers and where I could locate cheap Halfords head unit. Got bored and accepted the Landy symphony of tyre noise and gearbox whine til last week - finally joined 21st Century and bought iSpod after several beers.
Was very chuffed til I got home and established after much swearing that my 8yr old IBM laptop and other IT kit was too old to run latest iTunes software so my new gadget was unusable - could have got various useful bits for SIII for price of modern music frippery gadget(mmfg).
Fortunately new job, started on Monday, gave me modern laptop - have enjoyed much 70's funk and Radio 4 podcasts on mmfg this week whilst ignoring normal Landy symphony.
Moral of the story is
a) don't attempt to gain lost youth whilst drunk by buying mmfg
b) if vehicle didn't come with stereo then maybe that's the way it should be
c) buy 110 and put string quartet/skiffle band/group of choice in the back
d) don't go out on Friday night and drink bottle of Grappa at the restaurant and Absinthe at home

mmfg playlist includes everything from Arlo Guthrie to Clash to Cafe del Mar to Gong to Whigfield to Kenny Rogers - haven't decided what is the ideal SIII driving song - maybe thats the subject of a thread all of it's own
