hi
was wondering if anyone knew what sort of mpg would a diesel range rover return on average
has anyone ever bothered to work it out

also out of interest what about the 3.9 also

cheers

My P38 2.5 DSE does roughly 22mpg (according to the computer and my maths - i am sad and keep an eye on how far i go on each tank of diesel, lol!) and it seems to stay that way. I havent taken it on any long motorway journeys yet so that figure it based on driving round town etc.

Computer has been running on my 99S DHSE with 2 tanks of diesel and the average MPG is 27.6 that is a mix of town, urban and motorway driving so probably gives a good mix figure. I do have a PSI powerbox and as I have said before have seen 31mpg on the way to and from Bolton (275 mile round trip) on the motorway doing an average of 83mph.

My DSE does around 22 in town, and 26-28 on a run. If I am careful I can get 30+.

They do vary a *lot* I don't know how much depends on the maintenance of the vehicle, or the driver, probably a combination of the two. Problem with a diesel is that is does become less efficient the older it gets because the injectors get gunked up. I'm just running Forte Advanced Diesel Treatment (a trade product) through the tank I have in now, supposed to clean the injectors etc. Will see if it makes any difference!

My 3.9 Disco used to do 10-11 around town and 15-17 on the motorway.

Of course, we are talking about the P38 here, don't know what the Classic diesel does.

Matt.
