Hi,
I'm considering selling the DSE as its only doing 26mpg and with fuel being £1.27 per litre its just too rich for my blood.

Can someone tell me what sort of MPG I can expect from a P38 4.0L car?

Thanks
Richard

I got a 4.6 running on lpg. paying about 50p a litre. Still only doing about 17mpg at best, been told it's cheaper to run than the diesel. Plus you get that great v8 sound we all love!

i think i had an air leak into the plenum/trumpet trumpet/manifold joints that i have since repaired, idle slightly slower and lpg consumption at best around town 11.5mpg! is this too low for a 4.6? me thinks so.......although i do have a lovely sounding exhaust and my right foot often makes it sing, i must try to be more gentle with it and see how it goes!!

how do you adjust the mixture on a multi point tartarini system?
there an allen bolt in the top of the vapouriser but i cant imagine its that simple?

its not been touched in 3 years i had it!

I have just recentley had my L322 Range Rover converted,i am averaging 13 around town and upto 30 on a run....the fuel gauges that come with the LPG systems are not very acurate,i need to fill it up and run it right out to get a more positive figure....if you convert to LPG then get the biggest tank possible as you lose upto 20% filling capacity due to expansion,i have a 88 litre tank but i've never run it dry so i have never been able to get more than 50 litres into it......for 50 ltrs i did 150 miles.

wohhhh... thats massive, I hae a 4.0 Petrol and the computer reads out 9.7-11 mpg within the city and on motorway its abt 21-22

im not sure if the fuel computer on the range rover works in conjunction with my lpg system, i never give it any thought, ever!
i would have thought not but everyone elses seems to!

if it didnt then the mpg should be huge when lpg being used and its not so maybe it does, usually reads around 17mpg average!

I have a 4.0l petrol and I work 7 days a week to fund my Rangie's petrol sucking addiction. Combined 17.4 but on a long run have had the computer showing 24.3 I don't do a lot of town driving and don't have a heavy right foot. I will get it converted at somepoint when I want to start taking days off.

My fuel computer does not work with the LPG system,i usually set the mileometer to zero everytime i fill up......i fill up with LPG untill the pump automaticly stops ( i've never managed to put in more than £30 ) i went to southend a few weeks ago and filled up in greenwhich...i took a trip down the A13 then onto the A127 at a constant 70 - 90mph ,when i got to Southend my LPG fuel gauge was still showing as full so i filled up again after a 40 mile trip and all i could get in the tank was £2.52p
