Not had car long but worked out what im getting mpg wise, LPG tank went empty so i stuck £33 worth of gas in it @ 75p per litre, Thieving *****..

Got 130 Miles exactly before it ran out.

So, (I think this is right, I bunked many a math session)

3,300 divided by 75 = 44 litres.

44L divided by 4.5 = 9.7 Gallons.

9.7 x 13.5 = Approx 130....

Or 130 divided by 9.7 = 13.5...

Is this the right way to work it out.. Havent looked at any specific formula, just the way i have interpreted it. Anybody better it? Thanks fellas.

Your maths is correct but it dosen't sound like LPG is all that much cheaper per mile than regular petrol. Both of my 4.6L average around 18mpg and will hit 23ish on the highway. I know its not twice as good but the gap is closing....

Just a tip, not really a good idea to run the LPG to empty, as the mixture leans off as it gets towards empty it can cause backfires than can blow your airbox to feck.
If you get the SW and lead for your system you can set it to switch to petrol when tank reaches a certain point empty.

Yes - you are calculating the miles for each gallon so its 130 miles divided by 9.7 gallons.

But when you are comparing petrol and lpg I suppose what you are really interested in is £ per mile for each........ I'll leave you to do the maths!

I'm being stiched up down south for 95p a litre for lpg
If i drive 26 miles i can get it for 75.9 a litre, but what i gain in saving money i lose in travel costs,doh..

Cheer everyone, 13.5mpg on gas is around town, without taking any care to conserve fuel but not hammering the motor, So i expect maybe 15-16mpg with care and more on long runs. I find that excellent for the 4.0 motor. Had me mulling over a 950cc fiesta mk3 on gas but that ideas for another decade.

73.9 it is near me, thats the only lpg station for miles aswell. 95p per litre is a joke.

Try website FillLPG.co.uk - Your LPG Filling station map lots of stations local to users and prices amended by ourselves. You can down load to Satnav and points of interest ( Gas stations) for any journey and get an alert when approaching a gas station.
I have used it a lot. Got a fill in Birmingham last week at 65p and the guy said it was going down this week. Pity i live 30 miles away.

Cheers Goldplanner... Anyhow I've worked out how to start the Rover on LPG, Put switch on petrol setting, turn ignition on, Switch to gas, Start car, Car will start straight on gas...... Is this ok to do ?
