Mpg on 2.5 dse

Hi Guys ,What should you expect to get (MPG) around town like the school run etc... tried to do a search but there was nothing.

we are getting around 22.5 - 23mpg at the moment
 
I am getting 25-27 on a mixture of town and "A" roads and the best I have seen ever was 30mpg on a run along the motorway probably with a tail wind!
I am planning to install a Van Aaken Smartbox in the new year to, hopefully, improve things a little not to mention the extra horsepower.
 
Thanks for the replies ,sorry its taken so long to get back but I have been flat on me back with Viral Influenza for 8 days ,just about back to the land of the living now .
Ours has a plugin chip fitted from Rimmer bros it was on the car when we bought it is there anything else we can do to tryand improve it .

Hi dark glad you're feeling better are you getting 22.5/23 mph in town or on a run. If its on a run reset both trips 1&2 try it on a run then and see what you get don't use the cruise control
 
Have just had a Van AAken Smart box fitted, and on first short run my trip computer said 56mpg, but now I've done some longer runs on dual carriageway 110kph and autostrada 130kph limits, where it is easy to stick the cruise control on and run for at these speeds for 30 or 40 kms at a stretch, am getting 44mpg consistently from my 1999 2.5 DSE Auto. Otherwise general motoring in and around rural part of Italy where I live 30mpg.
One of the joys of living in rural Italy, relatively light traffic.
 
Alan H, Went out today ,reset the MPG after a round trip of about 70-80 miles the readout was average MPG 29.8 .
The figure of 22-23MPG was around town like the school run etc.. so would you say its running ok or needs further investigation.
