Good Day All,

I'm in the process of finishing off a LWB Series 3 (Panel Van). I've replaced the rear two half doors with a full door, and I wish to mount a spare wheel on the door. Can anyone tell me, how much strengthening inside the door is required to protect the door/door skin from damage (I have the external wheel mount).

Take Care
Richard

Just taken my door mounted spare wheel carrier off, it has a plate on the inside of the door about 250mm x 250mm. The door skin is undamaged apart from the obvious holes, however the hinges take a hammering and the door rattled so much I took it off, the spare now lives attached to the bulkhead behind the seats. If you really want the wheel on the back better to get a swing away carrier.

Good Day All,

I've also been looking at a "swing away" carrier as another option, my problem is that I have two jerry can racks mounted on the outer body/chassis, and most carriers interfere with them. I might have to get one specially made up.

Thanks
Richard
