Had my 300TDi off the road (SORND) for about 6 weeks now and went to her this week to put the freshly charged battery on to find internally the windows had condensation on and all the seats, carpets and steering wheel have green mould spores. I guess the sunroofs are letting water in but what is the best way of cleaning the interior up (without removing it or the carpets).

The amount of liquid that the underfelt can hold will shock you ...
it is not always the sunroofs at fault, the alpine windows can leak, as can the windscreen - some on here have spent ages chasing water ingress ...

Shocked me! Mine were so sodden I ripped them out, they weighed a ton.

I stripped the whole interior out. That sound deadening foam is like a huge sponge - you HAVE to get it out if its to have any chance of drying out completely. When I pulled mine out, it was literally running out of the foam like a tap turned on full. It had been stood for a year or more with leaky sunroofs ... by previous owner, not me!
I took the seat covers off and washed them with oxywhite in a large plastic tub, followed by another hand wash in washing powder - they're like new now. As I've fitted RRC seats now I'll be selling the covers once I've done the rear seat covers. The foams were shot and it was cheaper to get the RRC seats than replace the foam.

Foam upholstery cleaner. I left a fan heater in mine over a few days whilst parked at work when it leaked. Just crack a window open and all the moisture will fook off. I used to get ice on inside of windows. Now I get nothing. And still have all the sound deadening in.
