MOT's due will this hole result in a failure?

Accepted I have to get the loadspace floor replaced or at least within MOT spec. I have found a hole in the drivers side inner wheel arch. The hole is about 3 inches from the bulkhead and about 4 inches long and is along the wing seam from the bulkhead to the coolant resovoir. I need to know if it's essential to get it repaired before the MOT as only the resovoir sits on it and a union joining some brake pipes is mounted about 8 inches from the hole down the inside panel of the arch?

Will get hole fixed as soon as anyway because muck get thrown into the engine bay from the wheel but not enough time gefore MOT expires. This weather is not helping much as I have nowhere under cover to do the welding.

hello i have 1993 200tdi 5 door and had my MOT bwt 3 mnths ago.

i have the hole where yours is and around the same length etc...
the car failed but not on this as the garage said IT WASNT STRUCTUAL!!
(not a gd speller lol)
i had to get my sealls wealded.

hope this helps... if still unsure just pop into a garage and ask them to av a quick look ... i also asked a friends dad who does mots and says the same as the other guy !!!!!!

I think the brake pipe union maybe a reason to fail it.

Also how close is it too the pedal mounting area, above the footwell? There needs to be 12 inches of good metal.
