Good evening all,

After buying my 110 nearly two years ago, it has been 'between MOTs' for
want of a better word, due to being imported (in the loosest sense of the
word) from GB to Ireland, and then on to France last year where it
subsequently broke down for a while.

So I finally got around to getting it in for a CT (controle technique - MOT
equivalent) test here, not knowing what was going to happen after not being
tested for at least 2 years.

I had lists as long as your arm of things that were going to fail.
The shocks, while not leaking, looked a bit sad, as did the steering damper.
It also has a bit of a list.

On filling the swivels, I discovered why they were empty, as oil made it way
back out onto the ground! I'd contemplated refilling them with grease but
hadn't bothered.

The handling is a tad interresting on one particularly warn bit of road. I
suspected pandard/track rod bushes.

The rear doors are held together by the interior trim.
Plus all the other usual leaks, rattles etc.

So I dropped it in for a test this morning and it PASSED, with the following
notes:

Numberplace not fixed correctly.
Chassis number not visible.
Track rod play.
Panhard rod play.
Gearbox leaking oil.
- To which the mechanic added, "but sure even the feckin' *new* ones leak
oil all over the show. Other than that, its good for a 12 year old".
I couldn't help smiling.

To top it all off, it valid for 2 years :)

All I have to do now is go for a noise test. Apparently this involves
tracking down the mobile spot testers in a layby somewhere and persuading
them to test the 110!
