Sounds like you had a good trip. Too bad about the puncture. Did you pass todra gorge en route to Zagora by road?

Looking forward to seeing your report/pictures.

Sorry still not had time to get pics up etc......

Had a fantastic time, still buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzing :)what a culture shock & mega landscape that blows your mind away:):)

Went up to Imilchil and back down the other side through the Todra gorge (this is all tarmac now, mitchelin map says "Dangerous/difficult" road going up from the North side but it was a piece of pish" ) on our way to Merzouga.

Puncture was due to pulling off the piste to let the only vehicle (on coming) we had seen all day. A sharp stone went straight through the tyre!!! tread not side wall :eek::eek:

Can I ask a question about Garmans Worldmap Mapsource. I bought version 5 a few months ago and then a few days ago downloaded the latest update version 6.14 from Garmans website. It seems to have updated the helpmenu but not the map and edit windows. The help menu says I can have auto routes which follows the roads. But the Preferences window in the Edit window is different to the one described in the helpmenu and does not allow autorouting (which will follow the roads).I can only do straight lines. It really will help to be able to follow the roads in designing a route and can anyone help please. I notice also that the map does not show the new motorway from Tangier Med.

Afaik the Morocco maps are not routable, they certainly weren't when I went. I used the track tool in mapsource to trace the route I wanted follow over the roads/tracks in mapsource, then saved the tracks to my GPS. Took about a week, but well worth it in the end.

If you PM me your email address I'll send you my tracks/spreadsheet.

Booger; likewise that's what I did with my old 60Csx, as you say well worth it.

Griff; your right, It'll be interesting this time as my new Garmin Montana 650t GPS is also a fully routable satnav, just got back from Solvenia/Croatia and I was able to create a route on it using a waypoint/s and locking it to a road/track. Hope all is well, when are you off next?

Cheers all Mark
