last time was over 8 years ago in Tignes - it's probably fit for the bin by now

I did my basic paragliding corse from Bourge St Marice just down the valley from Tignes. I love the French Alps, cant get away from there, nearly applied for a job in Mc Donalds last time i was there just so i could stay! I dont speek any french at all though bit of a problem, i blame my school for teaching me german. I cant speek a word of German eather. :D

I did just search the glider you have, not alot of hits! Shouldent perish too much in the dark though? I know UV destroys them.

i had 5 winter seasons teaching in Tignes and the 3 valleys area but never learnt much more than how to order food and drink - the sails about 20 years old now, not so sure i'd trust it  it's was the dogs nuts when i got it first

was young free and single and happy back then

And....i just bought this....GIN GLIDERS SPRINT PARAGLIDING PARAGLIDER BRAND NEW on eBay (end time 08-Mar-10 21:17:56 GMT)

:D:D:D:D:D

Went with the new one in the end, got a very good deal on it, i visited the seller about a fortnight ago and he got all his gliders out and showed me all his kit and gave me some advice as hes an experienced paraglider pilot. The new one should last much longer if i look after it, i dident want to take the obvious risks with a used one. Just need to get a harness and reserve!

Hehehe! That sounds like a laugh, Will wave as you go overhead :p

Any luck with the MOT yet?

What time do you want to leave on Friday Andrew? Im yet to find an open camp site, the two i wanted to go to open late March. Its ok ill find at least one from the tourist board. We will have to book befor we get there for friday as we will get there late, and hope they let us in! Also then we can get fresh with the facilities for the rest of the weekend. Saturday night we could possibley do a wild camp, would be a good test of practicality. We will just pull over on a lane up high (ill designate a pint prior), will be a good mock up of what we will face in the Atlas regions.

I'll try and get done by 4pm, but 5pm is probably more realistic

Plans sound great :D

Just got back from the workshop, absolutely knackered. We have got to the stage where a few extra hands would be very helpful, so if you are available wed night it would be much appreciated. Will try and recruit Darren too.

Must get some shut eye:eek:

That time sounds fine, Simon and Emma are still not sure if there coming, i would very much like them to come to get some idea of what its going to be like. If they do come they have work hours on friday too.

Will try and give you a hand wednesday eve but im preaty buissy myself, MOT is booked for thurs, parts will arive tomorrow or wed, so got to get them in. The Jeep is coming along too, it runs now. :D (We think!) Gona wire up the lights possibly in a minuit, the suspension is waiting on new bolts, had to attack it with the BIG grinder, again parts will be here tomorrow and i need to get that done at some point.

Reconditioned box is in the post, along with new drop arm, ball joint, shaft UJs and steering shock absorber, if they dont pass it with that in, i will be displeased. Especialy since the MOT is thursday, so i can get the road tax friday, so i can drive to the lake district same day. Its all in the ballence at the moment. :5bwilly_nilly: :D

Cool well hopefully all the parts arrive and go in easily, what are the odds

The paraglider sounds like a hoot, says the human meatbomb :D Our trip video should be mighty impressive...

No sure you would walk away from a paraglider reserve chute... If you landed on land that is...

Yea ive seen those, and many others! The reserves are abit hit and miss, as my French instructor said "We give you the reserve because the insurance requires it, but you are better off just landing in a tree."

This is a good video, SIV training over water. Will be a long time befor i have a go at that. This is the same wing i have bought in fact, the same colour too!

The other option is to get them from Carlos, I'm waiting for a price from Carlos, but my worry is if we get to Algercias really late we may not be able to get our tickets untill the next morning, and not really sure how long it all takes, but I'll let ypu know the quote from Carlos when it comes in.

There is a Motorhome park near Carlos'es place where we can crash after a long drive through Spain, and then jump on the first ferry in the morning, if that sounds agreeable to all !

I take it that will cost more for me with my mahusive landrover. Direct sounds good, getting them from an unknowen contact seems like un-necessery risk to me.

Im about to fit the new suspension to the jeep, the old stuff is finaly off after a terrific fight which ended with the big grinder cutting the leaf in sevral places.

Simon just e-mailed me to say that he and Emma cant make it this weekend, which is less than ideal. Ah well, at least we can leave early ish. I should have my steering box in the post tomorrow, but paddocks have failed to get me my new steering UJs. :( They also sent me a dodgey steering damper. I hope Ollie at inside out has a UJ in stock or i am gona be fitting the buggered old one for the MOT.
