Hey all
This thread isn't a problem more of just a question.
Basically, I've just put a 200tdi out of a Disco into my Defender and from what I know it is a bit fresher. The first thing I noticed is that the brakes are much better, which I can only assume is the vacuum pump. As I said this is not a problem, it's awesome
I know the vacuum pump on the Defender to be a vane type pump, and the Disco one to be a helical gear type. Is the helical gear type more efficient/powerful in producing vacuum in order for the brakes to work better (because the disco's are heavier I'm guessing) or could it have just been a problem with my old pump? There are no tell tales on my old engine, but it's just got me wondering
Any ideas would be appreciated
Cheers
