Just wondered if anyones windows are misting up in this cld snap we are having.. The reasn i ask is that i have owned my 2001 for just over a year and in that time i have not had to much misting,however i had my windscreen replaced last week and since then all the windows are socked in the mornings... is this 'just the weather' or badley fitted windscreen or are we all having this problem???

Hi Rob, do I take it that all interior windows are misting up, if so, you have water getting in somewhere. Did you have this vehicle last winter and if so, did the problem exist then? As you have had the windscreen replaced I would check that all the trim has been put back properly. It may be that some part of the screen hasnt sealed properly during fitment. Also, check you have no water in the rear wheel well. The seal around the rear hatches can leak and cause water to sit in the well. The problem with the misting is that the source could be anywhere in the car, so it's a case of feeling around the carpets and headlining for any wet/damp spots
thank you,yes i had her last winter, there is no damp on any part of the carpets anywhere. the back rubber seal (bottem of the rear window) was only fitted with 3 blobs of glue so i have sealed that beter.rear wheel well is bone dry..on smell in the car at all and they do clear when the air con is on,but they do all get wet.the back did mist before i had the windscreen done but now they all mist badly. was going to give comma anti mist a try?

Not sure the anti-mist will help, air con will remove moisture from the air so will clear the windows whilst it is running. Seems to point more towards a badly fitted screen, was this carried out by a windscreen specialist or a cash in hand fit, if specialist try to arrange that they check the fit. You don't need much moisture to cause the windows to completely fog over. Only other possibles I can think of is the pollen filter covers not sealing properly, although I would have expected the problem to have been there all the time, unless the fitter dislodged one of both of these whilst fitting the screen?

Just another thought are you loosing any water from your header tank? Could be the heater matrix leaking. But I would go with poor fittment of windscreen first.
Autoglass fitted it ..they have said they will refit it late this week(its better than looking for a small leak) fitted new pollen filters 4 months ago and sealed them tight..however will look tomorow to see if fitter did anything to them.as for water in car checked everywhere,carpets,roof liner,wheel well,all very dry...may be refitting the windscreen will do it,they fitted new clips but are ordering more to do a complete new job...
Hi mate, got same problem, heater is leaking from pipe seals, see if your carpet on drivers side is wet on the tunnel carpet left of pedals. Mines soaked.
only noticed cause was getting a few drips of coolant just under the drivers door and couldn't see where it was coming from. Turned out to be running under carpet and dripping from a trim clip hole in floor.
worth a check, quite common problem apparently, along with everything else a £40 grand car should suffer with

Hopefully the refit of the screen will solve the issue, keep us posted
