Missing cross members!!

Yeah looks like mine is another homemade bracket so think ill just go for new weld in one.

Mines coming out to fit an R380 one, bolt in are better though so you may as well chop off extra bracket and fit proper one in for ease

It's the cost as well. Hopefully gearbox won't be coming out too often. So it's to cost and time now versus cost and time later. I'm more inclined to just weld new one in. The other option is I adapt the new weld in one with a long m10 bolt through it.

It's £39.99 from local parts shop and they have it in stock.

£40 isn't too bad

No and by the looks of them two holes either end and a couple of bit of 40x40 angle and a long m10/12 bolt should mount it.

Ok so went and got new gearbox cross member today. Not good news.





Engine mounts are miles off. Looks like ill have to lift engine out. Cut out old mounts and remount. Going to be fun.

The rubber will stretch/bend remember

I thought the driver side lined up ok, it just moved a bit when the jack was lowered coz it wasnt tight. but yea the passenger side is loads out..

I'm now thinking a bit of box steel and two long m10s.

It wont bend that much drevil that was the idea that lead to them pics. We had the gearbox jacked up then strapped the crossmember to the chassis- driver side pretty much met but passenger side was miles out, but even with the jack lowered it was miles out..engine on passenger side is flying miles higher than driver side..bring on the engine crane!!!

Fresh rubbers, loosen up the mounts a bit on box, drop rubbers in and slowly tighten I'd say

Thats how I got my engine in as one side wouldn't go in easily without doing it like that, those old rubbers will have moulded themselves to the old mount that was in there so if it was aftermarket/homemade then they'll be wrongly compresses/shaped now

Hmmm we'll do your box idea first then if its still no good we'll manoeuvre the engine
