Mis-firing Petrol

Hi Guys,

I've got a 'C' reg 2.5 Petrol 90, still with it's original engine (possibly).
When she gets a bit warm she starts to cough and splutter as if she's running out of fuel, although she's not, and then starts to die unless i ease up off the gas. This is fine until it gets to the point that i could push her faster.
To start with i found out that the fuel line was getting too hot and the fuel was overheating in the pipe before it got into the carb.

I solved this, or so i thought, by getting a longer fuel hose and running around the LH wing. This worked for a bit, but the fuel line is still getting too hot on longer journeys.

Without cutting holes in the bonnet and fitting big vents or fitting liquid nitrogen cooling, does anyone know how i can fix this?

Hi try float level in carb or maybe ht leads are breaking down

i was going to suggest the condensor or ignition as this is a sign that the or a component is breaking down, fuel does get hot but i cant see how this will affect it as the fuel hasnt evaperated. i would be tempted to check the ignition, and the way i would check this is go to the vehicle in the dark lift the bonnet and start it up when the engine gets warm start looking for blue tracking lines on the ignition system if there is a lead breaking down or a crack in the dizzy cap it will show up.

She has had a new set of HT leads about a month ago, as well as new plugs and new rotor arm. Will check the float this afternoon.
