I have been takin Mings advice regardin fuel pumps, un i wood like sum
more please!!:D :D

I have done the following.. (as ming sez)..

Took orf the fuel inlet pipe from filter.. switched on the ignition, fuel
came ****in out all foamy! loads of air in fuel!

Next, took orf the fuel pipe from bottom of pump (engin bay pump) un
disconnected it so only the fuel tank pump will work, switched on ignition,
fuel came out slowly/steadily.. but no air?

Now, should the tank pump ****-out fast? do these pumps still werk
at a reduced rate wen there knackered? is there a simple way i can test
its pressure?

Back to the en/bay pump.. this pump is new, i did notice that it ran
for a long time at the first turn of the key! so i assume its been doing
all the werk!:(

Should i replace the tank pump!

The Engun is a non starter at the mo..

I wood like tu thank Ming fu awl his help he has given on the gaylander
frunt, and all the other memberz on here,, it is appreshe-ated !!:D :D

Fanks.. thats all the groverlin i cun do fu now!!:D :D

:) :) :) :) :) so yer rear pump is fooked greenie. . . .[sorry] the second pump is doing twice as much werk un yer fuel pressure to the main [high pressure pump] is not going to be efficient. . . . .but if you take out the rear un ,you might be lucky and just find that its crud build up. . . .but best have er new un stood bye . . . . .un best oh luck :) :) :)

Got to agree with Ming, it sounds like your first pump isn't feeding enough diesel to the second good pump which is why it's churning it frothy. Hope you get there Greenie, yer luck hasn't been brilliant of late.

Got to be worth trying Euro Car Parts like Cremator did but I really don't know. I managed to buy a genuine Landrover later (03 on) rear wheelarch pump as a spare for my car off fleabay for under £50 brand new never used from a private seller. Old story though, the bargains are only there when you don't need them. Also try the usual suspects like Paddock, John Craddock, Duckworth parts, Famousfour, Island-4x4 etc. Hope you have luck.

Don't know Greenie, all I can think is change any rubber pipes between tank & underbonnet pump & check any plastic or metal ones carefully.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

Got me anorl just been looking at the fuel circuit [try and get it posted fer ya]and like chom says air leaking in joint or hose. . . . .strange one, unless and this is a stab in the dark. . . .have you got a FBH or had ? as the rear pmp has an o/p for the FBH pmp . . .need to check that this is not open ended. . . . .gona see if i can post you the circuit and then you will understand my spaceman logic :D :D :D
