I think Derren Brown designed the cooling system for TD5s, he's the only guy I know who can screw with your mind to that intensity. So far I've put on 2 new water pumps ( bad mistake trying Britpart ) a new top hose, a new thermostat, new jubilee clips on any hose that looked like it might leak. Its been front flushed back flushed and any sort of flush in between and still it dont work right. Cab heat is intermitent, which I can live with, but still the needle rises nearly to the red, (well occasionally ) when its given some stick........... Still, looking forward to his new series, How to bring on the inset of early dimentia in landrover owners.

do the hoses feel solid when its been run hard and does the coolant system over pressurize
top hose is solid, but hard to say wether its overpressurised. Heater works off and on but never really gets hot, its almost like the thermo is switching on and off, may be its firked,it was a Britpart one?????

Try back flushing the heater matrix ...

and bleed the thing properly ...
Tried that last weekend but didnt make much difference, good flow in both directions. As for bleeding Ive all but hung it up by its tail pipe and slit its throat. Ideas!!!!!!!

if it cooks at 50mph plus and pressurizes-speak to ratty as his had cracked head and those symptoms

Thanks for that, the engine cooling seems ok at the moment, holds steady when under load and at varying speeds, its just the cabin heat at the moment. I was gonna fit a wood burner in but the leak from the sunroof would put it out!
