Hi all . . .any of you had this one, my td4 runs like a dream but the mill light sometimes flashes on can stay on for a minute or just a second , it dosn't effect the engine at all if i drive on long haul it never comes on,did fit a go faster gizmo bout 1/2 year ago and it twas after that i noticed this light , should i just ignore it or is it trying to tell me something, oh and by the bee if any of you freelunders are thinking of fitting the gismo i can well recomend it . . . bout 1/2 hr to fit , bit of twiddle to get best results, well worth it got mine on e bay ,a guy from this site recomended it. . . and so do i.

its the silly sign that looks like an engine and if there is a fault code in the e m s it knocks the td4 into get you home mode. . . ie no power, and the sign will stay on. . .:)

Hi ming,

Thanks, and I've been there...:D , one day I was racing an Audi 2.5 TDI and all of a sudden that stupid light came on, I lost power and limped home, there I had difficulties to get the car started afterwards, on my way to the garage the next day the car stopped completely and no way to get it started again so I called the garage and they came to flatbed me to their place where they found out my fuelpump was gone. Got it replaced under warranty and car was fine after. (To be honest, I raced that 2.5 a couple of weeks after I had mine chiptuned so I was anxious(curieus) to see what it got in its guts than):D Now I don't race others anymore (warranty is over;) ).
Have fun and tnx again for the info.

A mate of mine had something like this with a td4 recently, turned out to be a duff contact in the brake light switch under the brake pedal.Unlikely you may think...but true! £12 & it was sorted.Goes to show how daft the electrickeries are in motors nowadays.mucky`un.

Hi mucky`un,

You can say that again, a couple of weeks ago I put in my fuse F1 again as I had it taken out during the summer (is the one which heats the outside doormirrors) by pushing it in again I also pushed firmly on all the other fuses as well and as I was pushing I thought why not the complete set so I opened the hood and also pushed in the relays and fuses in the box in the enginebay, afterwards I took off and had to drive about 2 kms, when I started the engine again everything worked except the engine would start, the startermotor etc. all was ok just no engine running, the only thing I could think of was to give another push on all the fuses again and guess what, like magic everything worked fine again??? Can you believe that ?? Nothing done except pushed on the relays and fuses, or is there some weird coïncidence in play you think ?? (gremlins or so ??:D :D )

Cheers all for reply's . . . think i will leave alone [if it aint broke dont fiddle] its just annoying the silly light flashing . . . dont wanna wake the gremlins eh. Ming td4 3dr auto [with flashing lamp mod]
