Hi,

My ex RAF 110 has the 'slab' type seats (the separate backs and seats) and apart from one of the backs they're a bit tired looking.

I found some cheap backs on ebay and have ordered a pair. I can get new bases from Exmoor trim but there's two types, 'adjustable' and normal.

Does the adjustable bit refer to the fact that they sit on a frame that can be moved fore and aft? (as mine can). Anyone know what the difference is? I did email Exmoor but got a vague reply that didn't answer the question. I have seen some s/h bases on the net but I'm not sure what type they are.

How can something so simple be so complicated!!

Many thanks.

Actually someone mentioned to me they thought the later 'Defender' versions were deeper which might be the case to allow for the seat to move forward without then leaving a gap between the seat and back. I'll have to check mine to see if it is just the base that moves.

Mine the whole seat moved on the runners, base and back, as one item.

Mine is a 1991 90, ex-mod

I junked the slab seats as I kept sliding out them when laning lol

The back and base move together.
The Military 90-110 seats are the same as Series 3 seats, the bases just slot into the frame like the originals.
I fitted "Deluxe" Series 3 seats to mine, (the term deluxe is relative), the only observation I would make is that the deluxe seat backs are made on a wooden back and are not as robust as the original metal backs.

I just bought a pair of new seat backs (slab type black vinyl) from a seller on ebay - new and only £17 each posted! Just search land rover seat backs and you'll find them.

I want a new pair of bases but I think I'll have to go to Exmoor trim for those.
