Middle box exhaust

Hi there I have a Disco TDI 300, I want to replace the middle box part of the exhaust with a straight through pipe, I have look around and they are between 60 and 70 quid, I am not a tight ass but thats a lot of cash, does anyone know of a cheaper alternative or am I missing something??
Also am thinking of blanking off the EGR, is there anything I need to do to the electrical side of things when I do this??
If anyone has any advice on any of these I would be very grateful as I aint got a clue and can not afford garage prices!!:scratching_chin:
