metalic noise when i press excellarator

hi guys , was wondering if anyone may have the answer to my problem... When i first excellarate an again at about 2100 rpm i get a metalic rusty type of noise/creek coming from the front drivers side? Any one got any idea?

cheers in advance guys in gonna get some good pics up after Xmas as my girl will be nearly done minus the remap an in planning a nice camping trip with the dogs ..

Not sure how the 2100RPM could affect it but possibly drop links or ARB bushes appear to be the cause of these types of noises - I think!

Dont press it then!....then no noise...simples..

have a look down the side of your engine at the bottom pulley, see if there is any metal swarf around if so it needs changing .

if its the same cracking creak i get then its because your rear sway bar mount has worn. mines doing it now. because its worn its allowing the engine to rock to much backwards when accelerating causing the drivers side engine mount called the hydramount to move to much. the noise on mine got a lot worse when i removed the prop. to me it sounds like a mix between metal and metal snapping and a child safe pill bottle top clicking when trying to open it. hopefully replaceing mine this week.

That sounds exactly like it mate, in going to bell the mechanic tomorrow an ill mention all this to him an hopefully get it sorted asap. Also got afew other little niggly bits i was trying to hold off on till after Xmas but think in gonna have to get this all done now.

if you are getting a cracking sound have a look at the sub frame bolts to make sure that the nuts welded into the body have not come loose especially the back one on the right hand side

hiya teddy. i think mine is defo engine mount related as it hops like a b*tch when i try and take off in first after driving for about 30 mins. like the knackered mount rubbers are fooked. but not so much first thing in the morning when the rubbers are all still cold. im gonna do the sway mount first then take it from there.
iv also had a mate drive the car forward and back while i lean in the engine bay and i can see the sway on the engine going backwards and i can hear the noise from the hydramount area like its pulling the entire drivers side mount back with it.

rich did you ever get yours looked at after?
