Slide some blocks of wood under the cover to support it in the air when yer putting the bolts back in. Or use a trolly jack to hold it in place when fitting bolts. That's what I does.

Also get a long 'pokey' type thing to put through the hole to line it up, even for you to just put another bolt elsewhere ....
