Hi guys
Due to the early Def front and rear seats going for stupid money I have decided on getting a set of Mazda rx8 seats for the front like I had in the 90 but these will be the lighter none electrical manual ones and fit a cubby box aswell and for the rear I will replace the home made bench seats with decent used ones and get some cussions made up to suit.

So has anyone else fitted Mazda RX8 seats in a S11/111 before as they are a great long distance driving seat :)

I went for some cheap after market bucket seats (expensive new but old and shot) and they are a pain to get in and out of. Anything with wings on the seat will be the same.
The problem is that saloon seats aint ment to be sat up in like a series. OK if you havnt got the rear bulkhead stuck up ye jacksy but no car seat will be very comfy in the vertical position. I manage to remain indifferent in mine. Neither languishing in sumptuesness or losing the will to live so I manage.
I like the idea of the smart car seats as their shallow profile gives you more room.
I should have held out for a cheap pair.

Yeah when we fitted them into the 90 the main problem we had was that with my son being tall we had to fit a rear bulkhead removal bar as the back rests on both seats wouldn't go back enough, the 90 was for both of us to use but the 2a will be mine with him driving it every now and then so the rear bulkhead is staying and when we replaced the front doors on the 90 for series style doors the seats was well away from the doors as with the Def doors it was hard to set the drivers seat ( electric ) with the door closed but as its a 2a with 2a doors and using none electric seats it should work out ok plus I can remove the seat base rather than remove the seat if I need to get to the tank sender or anything so think overall I should be ok :)
