This is Land Rover forum so not the right place to ask. However there are things general to most diesel engines. Modern engines are self bleeding and have an electrical solenoid for fuel cut off. After a fuel run out they can take some turning to clear the pump of air. Try pumping while turning over.

If you don't know where the bleed screw is on the dissy pump as an alternative most diesels can be bled by slackening the union between the injector and the feed pipe then turning the engine over on the starter. Once you are getting regular pulses of fuel out of the joint tighten them up,

They can be a pig to bleed, so definitely an engine to avoid running out of fuel in.

There are bleed screws through the system, and by slackening them or the various fuel pipe unions you can ensure that fuel is through to where you need it. Once the injection pump has got no air in it it should start, but it will require a bit of cranking or towing to get it there. Could be worth disconnecting the fuel stop solenoid from the lever on the pump to rule that out, just in case it has developed a random fault.

How long did you tow it for? And where have you got fuel to in the system?
