Hi, can anyone advise me what are the largest wheels/tyres I can fit to a series 3. If I want to go bigger what do I need to do?
Thanks
Thanks
7.50 is normal large size, but mate has just put 8.25 16 mich xzl on his 90 and reckoned he saw a couple of pics of s3 with the same tyres on, so maybe worth a google?
They are 34 inches tall, 30 3 inches taller than a 7.50 xzl, which basically means another 1.5 inches under the diff which is worth quite a bit.
Quite narrow so good in the mud.
You will loose some steering lock though.

I disagree with that, the physical diameter causes the clearance problems especially at the front, the tyres wouldn't even go on, they fouled on the bumper and front panel. The biggest problem is width and offset. not diameter.
Hi, you say you fitted 265/75R 16 to your series 3. Is this without modifications?
Any probs with lock and clearence?
Thanks
Yeah. That was with no mods whatsoever. No issues as of yet. Not fouling anywhere. My profile pic shows them on.
I've got 9.00 x 16 Michelin XL on my Series III 88"

265/75's are the same diameter as 235/85's so they won't help if your grounding.....
As for your question there's a little known but quite effective search engine called........no wait......the names slipped my mind ![]()
Jon, got mine from Vass, Tyres - L W Vass Ltd
