To get this thread back on track here are some pictures of the 40mm lift with 225/75 16. Clearance is tight (steering arm rests on opening with car on jack, spring cups I cannot squeeze my finger through). Camber was out when I did it by quite a bit (mid December). I think it's settle a bit. I tried to measure camber today on my garage floor (flattish) with a spirit level adapted to stand off to wheel rim, then a bit of Pythagoras to work out the camber. So I'm not sure how accurate it all is but rears are -0.37 and -0.11 degrees. Front are +0.2 and +1.4 degrees. Just have one camber correction pin on both the front top position.
In the tyre compare photo there is 225/75 16 (biggest). 205/80 16 (middle) and the original 195/80 15 standing on level floor (so photo difference is double the lift effect you get)
There is 10 inch clearance to the rear cross structure (lowest bit in middle of car)
I know a 50mm lift is possible - but I would not feel happy about cutting enough inner wing out. I think that the 40mm lift is enough.
kit from AL services. It's good quality, but just wish they would work out where to drill the holes and put the studs in the lift kit to pull over the top of the suspension strut towards the center of the car to compensate for the camber (if that's possible!).
