Hi all,

Just bought a 1969 Series IIa and new to the forum.

After fitting a re-con gearbox, I've moved onto the next thing, the brakes.

I've just purchased a new master cylinder for it which I belive is correct for the year, but does not match the one that seems to be fitted

The one I bought was a Series II/IIA (Early) 88-inch SWB - CB Type (Large nut at the end) Non-Servo.

However, on inspection, it seems to be fitted with a Series IIA (Late)/III 88-inch SWB to June 1980 - CV Type Non-Servo.

I've got the felling the answer to this will be "no, you can't.." but ....

Can I fit the older type cylinder I've just bought or am I going to run into heaps of issues and make the landy unsafe?.

Any help from your own experience you can give me would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers! :)

Yes, I agree, not a good idea on reflection. Just been studying the expanded diagrams of cylinders in the Haynes Manual. Didnt take long before I ordered the CV type.

Anyone want to purchase a brand new, unused CB type Master Cylinder for an early SWB Series ii?
