Hi, couple of years ago I found a thread on the forum to manually open the rear door, can anyone post the thread again please. Thanks
 
Thanks for replying, I'm dealing with an issue which quite frankly has me stumped. I have a 3 door freelander 1 2002. I have no power to the rear door, no power to either front doors, so none of the electrical systems work. However the number plate light works. So there is power on that side of the loom.

I can't get the window on the rear door, even after disconnecting the battery. To manually open the door the window has the come down. I have thought about splicing a live feed from a 12v source into the window regulator to get it too drop enough.
Once I have the window low enough I can get the cover off the door actuator, I should be able to get the the door latch to get the door open. There was a guide on the forum about doing this but I can't find it. Once I have the door open I should have access to the wiring to try and find the fault.
 
As mentioned, all power comes from front so with that many things affected, check supply to the correct fuse and if present trace it on. The problem does not appear to be in the back door and getting in will cost time and potentially damage.

Find the fuses for each circuit that is not working. Check you have supply and trace on through or back until you find the fault.

It may be a common fault or there may be more than one.

You said the radio and clock don't work in your PM. Find the fault for these and it may also be a feed to the CCU as well.

I can't bear sitting in the warm looking at circuits while you tear your vehicle apart !!

Fuse 11 in the drivers side fuse box feeds the radio and the CCU which controls windows and locking.

Have you a 12v feed on the fuse on both sides of it???


If the battery being reconnected does not power down the rear window then the CCU is missing power.

Can't find a circuit for clock but maybe radio feed ??
 
Andy, thanks I had to call it a day, no access to a garage so it got a bit cold in the yard. Found a brass monkey crying his eyes out. Lol. I'll get on it tomorrow, Wednesday I am having a bearing sorted out, whilst that's being done I will chase after it. Thanks again.

Hi, walked away from it yesterday, only lock the front door on the key. It seems that the only power to the rear is the lights, the number plate light works, so power is getting down to the rear door.
Bear with me, the rear window switch on the dash if I push down to drop the window it beeb's, but not if I push the switch to put the window up, is this to warn me the door is open?

Does all of your problems happed at the same time ? Or things start to fail one after another ?
If you have the warning about an open door, the boot door lock have an issue ...

I don't follow you at all, you say you don't have power to the front door,
I asked if you had the front window working, and if you ear the relay ?

You say you don't have the power to the boot door, but you can lower the boot window with the button 😵‍💫
 
Sorry for the confusion, the button beeps, but the window doesn't open, I can't hear the relay, on drivers door. It all started on on Wednesday, I parked up, engine running, drivers window open, door closed, opened the back door, unloaded rubbish everything worked as it should, unloaded some rubbish, closed the back door again everything worked as it should, got into the driver's seat closed the door, it close properly drove the car to park up.
I tried to close the window, nothing, I realised the door wasn't shut properly, opened and closed the door properly, window still wouldn't close, then I noticed, No interior lights, clock, radio, no power to the front doors, except heated mirrors??, so no central locking, no imboliser, no windows, the back door is dead, apart from the number plate light, but the car drives, I have all lights, indicators, hazard warning light, horn and wipers, and washers, no fuses are blown and horn. That is about the size of it. I hope this clears up a few things. Any ideas? Thanks 😊

If you disconnected the battery and it is the same.

5 year old battery ... some battery doesn't last more than 2 years ...
Battery voltage at rest ?
Battery voltage when the engine is running ?

If the wippers are still working, the CCU seams to be still working ... but a dying battery could explain some odd issues ...

You could clean the the battery terminals.
You can try to remove radio, interior lights, doors, ... fuses, then put them again one by one.

I'm leaning towards a common earth, any thoughts, how many earth's are the on a Freelander 1 other than the one from the battery to the engine?

A simple check with a multimeter would tell you.
You say you have various dash/door items that have no power… test them. Is there 12v getting to them?
