Just a suggestion, would it be possible to modify clutch operating system by maybe fitting a trigger system of some sort to the gear lever using a flexi pipe to depress the slave cylinder instead of the pedal. Any suggestions would be grateful.

How about servoing the clutch, did it on my 75 classic when it had the perkins in cos the clutch was so heavy and the bigger the servo the lighter the clutch, first one I fitted the clutch was so light could press pedal with one finger.

Now you,re asking !!! Need to find a stand alone servo. Think first one was off an old rover with single pipe brake system, think next one was off bmw that had 2 servos 1 for each line, minicooper had same in front wheelarch.Try searching on web for servo, pretty easy to fit find place to mount servo make up new pipe work from clutch master to servo/servo to slave and tee into brake vacum pipe. Must be somebody out there still making servos.

Some later Fiat 127s had remote servos fitted to their brakes. Probably not much help now but maybe they use the same system on other small fiats like early Pandas etc. Not sure on this, but ebay seems the place to go.

OK so which was the last one you fitted that gave you finger pressure operation, as I have just had to have a below knee amputation on my left leg, so wont be able to apply as much pressure with a prosthesis limb. Thanks for all your help :D :D :D

It would be the rover one, as a rule of thumb the bigger the diameter the more powerful the servo I think, sorry cant be more helpfull I have no idea whats available now but it does work and I hope it will be of use to you.

Me again, I just googled lockheed or girling servo and see there,s still plenty about, all I can say is go for biggest, something that will stop a Humber Super Snipe !

Apologies for the long delay in responding, been busy sorting my prosthesis, Thanks for the info ;), I will get onto google and take a look, and see what I can find.

I think it depends a lot on which auto-box you have in mind. Early factory built auto's had a different floor pan to accomodate the larger 'box, but later cars using the ZF unit used (I believe) the same 'pan as the manuals.
