hi I have a spares freelander td4 facelift that is a auto and my freelander is a pre facelift td4 Manual
I want to clean the air intake so my
Idea is take the one from the auto get
It really clean so I can just take mine off and replace straight away just to make the job quicker question is will it fit and should I clean or replace anything else when I am at it thanks

Yes the manifold is the same on the M47 Auto or Manual, use engine degreaser & or oven clean spray foam, scrape most of the black gunk out first, then give it a good soaking in the oven cleaner or engine degreaser, after being soaked for at least 4 hours jet wash the manifold out until clean.

You will need to clean out your EGR that is if you do not have a bypass one fitted at the moment, when you take off your old manifold, remove the MAP sensor give that a good wipe over with a rag with some carb cleaner on it, make sure you clear any gunk cogging up the hole in the MAP sensor, do not poke anything inside of the MAP sensor,

The EGR can be scrapped out with an old hacksaw blade use the back part of the blade not the teeth part to do the scrapping, wipe out with rags, and spray carb cleaner, into the EGR but not down the pipe, the rubber gaskets can be wiped as clean as possible and re-used.

Personally I would stick with cleaning it bypass ones can sometime throw up a bit of trouble but not always, once it is clean it does not take much to wipe it out every 6 months

Thanks for speedy reply yes I think I will clean it out this time as I have a mot in few months anyway going to strip the manifold out and get it steeping once again thanks for your help
