If I remember correctly, I would expect more noise... possible breeze from around the manifold and a possible loss of some power.
I am, however, not an expert... so if I am wrong someone will be a long shortly to hurl abuse at me!

Mix up some washing up liquid with water and squirt it around the manifold, you’ll see wheather theres a leak.
