Hello all,

I have a question about making changes to my cars registration (V5).

I have a 110 crewcab V8, wich has been exported, but still has his UK registration papers with it.

Before I import the car to my home country (Netherlands) I want to equip the car with a 110 hi-cap pickup unit and a 300tdi engine. So the wheelbase will be longer and the enginetype/fueltype will be changed. I want this to be on my registration papers as well, so the question is: how difficult is it to let this be changed by the DLVA?

Cheers! :)

Only your fuel type will change. The wheelbase will only change if you re-position the axles on the chassie:D

Snaggers, the wheelbase has to change. Since I am keeping the 4 door cabine and placing a hi-cap pickup tray. The wheelbase will aprox be 3526milimeters (longer than a default 130), where it's 2794milimeters now. ;)

I dont think DVLA is going to be a problem , other than getting the SVA inspection re the
chassis stretch , which will need to be done properly in UK , as you may run into problems with registering in NL as the VIN will be for a different spec vehicle . There is now a lot of EU commonality due to type approval etc . I dont know how sophisticated the NL vehicle registration authority is but if there is a discrepancy , eg your vehicle weights will be different etc it could make things very difficult , if they refer to DVLA and everything isnt tikety boo ! It depeneds on if you are an optimist or subscribe to "sods Law" JMHO

I think if you are going to convert it register it first if not you will be looking at two sva test one in uk and another to reregister in da netherlands

That may be the only option, cause in the Netherlands they wont accept two changes at once. Ok....they do accept it, if done properly offcourse, but than I get a new registration number and I loose the discount on the tax...

Anyway, I think I need help from someone in the UK, cause as I am from NL, I cant get the DLVA make changes to a car registered in the UK. Right?
