Makes the girlfriends bum wiggle!

OK help needed and not with the girlfriend! I have a 90 TD which has been running smoothly for 3 years with minor tweaks and servicing. Always starts first time with no bother. 2 weeks ago it hesitated during start but went anyway. Drove it for 10 miles then had a gradual reduction in power and a noticeable increase in black smoke out of the exhaust. Nursed it for a couple more miles untill it finally gave up on me when I had to stop at traffic lights. Nice AA man came out to look at it, confirmed my initial diagnosis of turbo or injectors. Looked at turbo for me (I had no tools, schoolboy error) looked ok, confirmed my initial thought of injector. Came home on back of low loader.

So far have changed injectors for reconditioned ones - needed it anyway.
Changed fuel filter.
Bled system

Won't start! Have checked the injectors are injecting and they all are. However only 2 injectors show any sign of ignition i.e. black deposit on the end of injector, the other 2 are as clean as a whistle.

Now I come onto the girlfriends wiggle! As she cranked it over for me to check injectors, it was firing on the 2 cylinders!

What next chap's, any ideas?

Next step post some photos and a vid of the truck cranking over. Its important that we hear the engine too and, in passing mild interest, see your girlfriend's bum wiggling of course.

Problems like this can be a long and slow process, but we'll get there in the end I'm sure.

Will attempt the first, later is proving a bit difficult. What would cause 2 pots to stop igniting, timing?

too much fuel, not enough fuel, not enough air, G/F not wiggling enough no vids on here

i think the g/f is probbly a bit old fer you g string. i reckon she's at least in the high school

Try harder We're waiting. Failing that just do a re-enactment for us in the living room

Are the 2 cylinders not firing beside each other?

Yep 2 in the middle

Might be an idea to do a compression test then. It's possible that the head gasket has blown between cylinders 2 and 3.

Thanks. Good idea me thinks I'm running out of easy options. Just taken air filter out and that's fine. Ho hum back to the girlfriend then!
