after going in extend mode 2 days ago, the air suspension is all wrong, when im driving it tells me not to go to fast or it will raise, while im in normal setting, it will say car lifting slowly, while its already on the good setting and say the system needs to cool down, like right after i start it in the morning, 2009 l322 tdv8, any suggestions? i also went into super extend mode (holding down brake and holding down the air suspension up button for a couple of seconds) is there any way i can reset my air suspension? or what ever

If you don’t usually use it can rub in crud and foul itself up. You need to plug it into EAS diagnostics to see what’s flagging up in particular
i use the air suspension itself a lot, but never did i try the extend mode, but i dont get how this can make the suspension go bad

Hi Timo,
I had a lot of strange EAS messages on my last RR and would ask one question.
Does the suspension operate normally even when the messages are displayed. For example if it says extended mode does it stay up or drop to access height and ride like a rollerskate?

I found that left to operate normally for a few days without going standard to access etc it settled down. Then was able to deliver the actual fault that was a pin hole in one airbag. I think the problem is that one fault starts a chain of error messages, especially if there is low battery voltage as well. If you have the chance to go through the correct switch off shutdown and battery disconnect you may actually reset the system as you are hoping. There are no exact answers it seems even when the codes are pull by diagnostic units. Keep us updated and you may get where you want to. Don't give up hope the answer is there to find. Tricky.

That's all you need to start that chain of error codes as the pump try's to keep pressure. Check where the escape is exactly, if it's on the surface of the bag then yes. If it's at the edge there could be a chance to re-fit. I had the same and as per my post this evening went for a new strut with bag already fitted. My leak was on the bag but the strut was old anyway so did it all in one. Your choice. Regards Tricky.

Okay, so after a few tries l, it’s back to normal height, I so don’t get this, and no air is escaping or what ever

Hi again,
The bag I just changed could sit at standard height for a week during the lockdown but another day it wouldn't stay up for an hour. It all depends on where on the rubber bag surface the leak is. I would say that if it's wear over time the hole will be somewhere on the standard ride height area of the bag so may just sit okay for a while or even driving along certain roads. That's just luck. Either way you'll have to fix it eventually.
Tricky.

The front struts on the L322 are odd.

The Upper seal rotates as you steer, thanks to the way it is set up, this is a common place for them to leak from..

Mine did this..

I fitted a 2nd hand unit, thanks to a new one being £200 plus..

Ridiculous..

Are you able to replace them yourself?

When I start the car, the compressor starts running, and after a while I get the message that it needs to cool down, the car height stays the same, standard ride height, any tips on why it keeps running? Because air is escaping maybe? But then why doesn’t it go down when the enige is turned off?

If it is constantly running then it is either trying to stem an unending leak, or the piston ring is worn out, and it is struggling to build pressure..

Being that she is sinking, a leak is more than likely.
