main stealer

I need a half shaft for a 110. looked at Craddock web site, under £20, but could do with it fairly quickly so phoned Conway landrover and was quoted £110. How on earth can they be 5 times more expensive? Can't be 5 times the quality unless the Craddock ones are made of chocolate or something.
It would be cheaper to drive 200 miles and buy 2. Does anyone buy parts from these people.

Last time me and my lad went in there they treated us like we were there to steal something. They don't deserve to be in business. Have you tried LAS on Llandegai Industrial estate?

I was after some bolts and for tow bar. It was going to cosy over £40 for the set. I went to my local trailer supplies company & was charged £1 each. The guy even printed out the fitting instructions from the computer for me.

Thanks for that. I would use LAS, or L&R in Llanerchymedd. Bit more expensive but there next day and only 5 mins away but i think they're both closed. Good job I've the use of another car or would be stuffed

I'm not sure if he's still running his indy garage, but Steve at Mon 4x4, Pentraeth is very helpful and might have one. (Ex Holdsworth 4x4 garage).

I used him a few months ago, always found him helpful and reasonably priced, I think the number is 01248 450002

Went round to Steve's yesterday morning but it was all closed up with a sign saying "closed due to unforseen circumstances" I hope it's only temporary cos he's a good lad and really helpful. I'll call again next week. I think he gets a lot of parts through Richard at L&R. In the meantime I'll see if paddock can overnight the bits for Saturday.

Last time I spoke to Steve he was still getting grief over ownership rights to the garage (as Holdsworth went bust and really messed things up for him), I believe he uses the window tinting shop a few units up when he can't access the garage. The business tel. no. will transfer to his mobile though.

Thanks Dewin, I'll stop on my way past next week to see Dave at the tinting place and see if I can find out what's happening.. it would be a shame to lose a handy garage like that
