Hi guys been a while since Iv been on cos the old girl has been running sweet .
Now its time to start making a few mods, so what I want you all to tell me is, Magnecor leads blue 8mm or red 8.5 yjeres about £20 difference dont mind spending the extra but I need to be told why and what extra benefits will I get?

A HT lead is just a bit of wire with thick insulation. Buy the cheapest you can find.

Wire has not been used in plug leads for many years. Todays leads are carbon cored. Carbon inpregnated fibre has been used for a very long time. This has a built in resistance to prevent radio interference. Personally i have always thought them a waste of time, wire is so much better. But if you transmitted some of the voltages achived today by transistorised ignition systems down wire, you would, without some serious suppression, virtually have your own radio station.

Im going to sit somewhere in the middle here. If you run LPG you do need an ignition system in top condition, unless you want to cause some damage that is. Tesco value style leads don't last very long in my previous experiences so therefore are not good value. I'm not convinced Magnecor are leaps and bounds ahead of any other lead on the market either. There is a certain V8 website that will tell you that you have not lived until you have a set but most other engine builders and LPG specialists dissagree with the advantages.

how did you guess Id spoken to Chris at RPI lol
He recons that there the mutts nutts and doesn't know how I ever managed without them.
I am also looking at having it chipped, and RPIs Tornado chip seems like the way to go, but its not cheap.
So will it like Chris says improve fuel consumption and throttle response or is it all sales talk, someone must have fitted a set and be able to spread some lite on the situation?

Throttle yes, fuel consumption maybe if you don't use any of the extra power and drive like a nun. So mostly sales talk.

i run magnecor blue on both my 4.6 lpg rangies and i reckon they are brilliant
compared to standard leads, you cant be having mis-fires on lpg
there not cheap around £90 a set

Fitted Blue Magnecors on mine, run lpg, had miss fires and pop backs before, never had one since fitting.
No change in fuel comsumption, performance err well it runs smoother.
One of the reasons i bought them is they have a lifetime warranty, so if running lpg, i say they are a must have, without LPG and a stock engine, maybe not!

I also fitted iridium plugs, will see how they go, everyone has different views on plugs and leads.

I just fitted Magnecor blue and tickover smoother and response better. If you have old leads and need to change anyway why not get the best you can afford?
