Freelander 1 MAF clean, tick,tick,tick, ?

Hello all.

Not a disaster, just on observation.
After cleaning the MAF sensor and restoring the vehicle back to what it should run like, I noticed that the annoying, tick tick tick thing at idle has gone.

Just to ask. Why would this make a difference?
Any help/ advice welcome.

That's a strange one. Never heard that on mine.
At least its gone now.
