lucas pump??

Hi we are looking to buy a 1989 Land Rover Defender 110 diesel.
Does anyone know what pump is on these as I am wanting to convert it to Veg oil. My old landy was fine on it and have run several cars on veg without problems.

1989 wlll likely be a 19j turbo diesel engine if it's the original one. This will have a lucas injector pump. Many people will tell you not to use veg oil in one of these howver I ran mine on high % svo for thousands of miles wth no problems. The more vegoil friendly 200tdi didn't go into production till 1990.

Thank you, I will look for a 1990 then I assume these had Bosch pumps.
I am no novice to WVO and will convert this one to veg fat. (solid stuff)
I ran my Freelander on SVO for thousands of miles year in year out till the ECU packed up then it went to trade in.
